Analysis of the Meaning of "Very Urgent Reason" Article 7 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage

Abstract

This journal discusses the analysis of the meaning of "urgent reasons" in Article 7 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage. The study aims to identify the factors that fall under the category of "urgent reasons" that can be submitted in marriage dispensation applications. Using a normative legal research method, the author explores various reasons commonly presented in dispensation requests, including social and cultural factors that influence the judge's decision. The findings indicate that although there are clear provisions in the law, the interpretation of "urgent reasons" by judges may vary depending on the context and evidence presented. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the legal process in marriage dispensation applications in Indonesia.
